I just won an Ebay auction for the full Castlevania: Symphony of the Night set. This is awesome; I got the original game (no Greatest Hits garbage), the Limited Edition disc of old Castlevania songs, a BIG artbook, and the Dracula X OST. In other words, I got the preorder set. <3 Much thanks, love, hugs, kisses, uNF, you-name-it, to neonclover. And much spit on the face of rosa_aquafire, or whatever her new fucking name is. Speaking of, if that stupid journal of hers is abandoned, why the fuck doesn't she delete it? Or is she reminding everyone that they're not cool enough to be in her presence? (Edit: the new LJ is northswainglow. Eliz's right; she IS a Sue. XD)

So that's three games - the three big ones - that I've replaced so far: both Lunars, and now SOTN. In all three cases, I came away with extras. The remaining big ones I have to get back are Megaman X4, and now that I see the case for it, I have to replace Tales of Destiny II. THAT pisses me off; one more expensive as shit game to replace. Might as well do it now, while I have some money.

(Just checked Ebay; I have found a copy where I am the high bidder at $1.25. I expect that to last all of three minutes)

A few questions, tho: First off, what's the difference between the original SOTN and the Greatest Hits version? I think I have the Greatest Hits one...;_;

Secondly, what songs are on the Limited Edition? :D

Thirdly, when you say Dracula X OST, are you talking about the SNES Dracula X, or the original Rondo of Blood? As much as I love the SNES original (that game was so difficult beating it was a real accomplishment) I hear Rondo kicks the crap out of it, especially in the music department. Opposing Bloodlines was nice on the SNES, but I REALLY wanna hear the original version ;_____;

Finally, did Ms. Neonclover buy you all that? ;______;

1. The disc just looks better; more for collectors than anything. here is the original disc. It's black, vice clear. Also, the case itself - instructions, back sleeve - don't have that ugly green "GREATEST HITS!" border, and the ad on the back of the book is more up with the times; my Greatest Hits book has an ad for Silent Hill, while I'm sure SOTN will have one for Valkrie Profile and Suikoden.

2. I don't know yet.

3. I'm talking RONDO OF FUCKING BLOOD, baby! :'D The disc is Japanese.

Konami should SO totally re-release that in the U.S. All my homies at the Castlevania Dungeon Forums would explode with happiness if that happened ;;_;;

Nope, I didn't buy him all that, I only found the auction for him. :3

Mew! ^_^

Congrats on the auction! :D

The fact that you have to replace the games at all is ridiculous. -_-
Oct. 2nd, 2005 05:08 am (UTC)
Agreed. And that ISO didn't work, either; it glitched on me. :(

I think I might need your CUE file.
Oct. 2nd, 2005 05:35 am (UTC)
ISO? Are you playing Rondo??? ;_;

Oct. 2nd, 2005 05:37 am (UTC)
How come you need an ISO to play SOTN? ;_;

You do need it.

The game should run fine.

Is that supposed to be Ewan drawn in MSPaint?
Oct. 2nd, 2005 08:35 pm (UTC)
Um... no. It's... something different altogether. :(

...Am I better off not knowing? >.>

Let's put it this way.

He posted the whole image on FESS.

He lost his staff position that day. :(

...Beyond NWS?
Oct. 2nd, 2005 09:01 pm (UTC)
They're stick figures, but no, not safe for work. :(

CUE files are never needed - for ePSXe, at least, as far I know.

Isn't it a config issue? A bunch of games need a few tweaks here and there in order to run perfectly, after all.
Oct. 3rd, 2005 02:14 am (UTC)
There aren't any special game fixes for SOTN, as far as I can recall.
Oct. 3rd, 2005 09:24 am (UTC)
Sometimes, it isn't an special game fix. Some games run smoothly on ePSXe 1.52 and not in 1.60, for instance.

Speaking as a video game collector, I really have to tip my hat to that one, 'Bus. I have the Greatest Hits version of SOTN, and I doubt that I would have the patience to hunt down all of the components that you have listed above. That is one good find, so, as they say at SNK: CONGRATULATION!

Also ... if you get stuck trying to find MMX4 and TOD2 (the one on PS1, I presume), let me know. I believe that my local EB (former place of employment) has both, and I am fond of sending mail. :-) But check E-Bay first, they probably have better prices on both games.
Oct. 2nd, 2005 08:33 pm (UTC)
I still have the bid at Ebay; if I win that one, at the price it's at, it will be akin to highway robbery (at $1.25).

I got my copy at EB Games, for $35. How much is the one in your area for?
Oct. 2nd, 2005 08:46 pm (UTC)
MMX4 is going for less than $5, I think, but TOD2 is still the full $35. (TOD1, traded by the same Good Samaritan, is slightly less.) EB Games prices tend to be fairly stable across the company, I think.

I'm really sorry to hear that you have to spend your hard-earned money to replace your own games. If you need some money for the games, I can always help you out...or I could hunt down a copy of those games for you if you really want...;(
Oct. 2nd, 2005 07:52 pm (UTC)
...Wow, congrats, Bus! ^^ I hope you can replace your games quickly.
