Two great articles on SBNet!

Got two good ones up in the span of a half hour, despite the internet's best efforts to keep me down..!

Article 1 is a little diatribe about blogs, bloggers, blogrolls, or anything else we can stick the word "Blog" into. Crib notes version: "blog" and "bloggers" have become nothing but buzzwords, they're too commercialized, and the fact that guys like me (I hate calling myself a blogger, but some people insist...) have to put our opinions on our own blogs, and that we're more read than most commercial newspapers, says more about the state of our news system nowadays than it does for us "degenerates".

Article 2 is about the Battlefield 2142 mess. Long story short: Battlefield 2142 is not only a haven for spyware, it's also going to cost the Euro area 54.99€, which equates to $20 more than the $49.99 USD price, which is a double dose of "fuck you". This one will be going up on IP once Alex approves it.

'Blog' still sounds like a comic book bad guy to me.

And Battlefield 2142 makes me think of Battlecruiser 3000 A.D..

Bus, I don't quite recall what X360 games cost in the US, but over here, they cost 70 euros. With the euro being 1.3 times the USD amount last time I checked, and I THINK US X360 games cost 70 USD, we're already off 30% more expensive.

And 54.99 euros is not an expensive game. Most new games cost 60 euros now. 60 euros was the normal price for PS2/XBox games this gen. And as I just said, 70 euros seems to be normal price for next gen. 50-60 euros was normal price for "new" pc games. 54.99 is NOT a surprising price at all, really.

It's just testament of how much we've been getting screwed over by EVERYONE.

Hm, funny how this gets released on my birthday... Must be a sign. Of SOMETHING, anyway.

Also, don't forget about PS3. With the 60 GB version at a nice 599 euros, it's 26% more expensive than in the US (I just looked at the exchange rate) so that's about 150 USD more for the same system.

Chances of me buying and modding a PS2 next gen instead of getting a next gen console are about 85% now.
