Americans vote all the time.

They just don't vote on the people running the government, that's all. They WILL vote for American Idol! And "who's going to win ____ game?" That, they'll vote for. But democracy is obviously minor compared to those pressing issues.

Funny you should mention that.

Here in the mideast, they are literally hundreds of voting programs.

I once mentioned to a very conservative saudi friend of mine (he so conservative he hates music!) that here in the arab world we can vote for everything except our leadership XD"

And he replied "We don't need that! King abdullah is a great king why would we need democracy!"

I forget who it was, but during the last Canadian election, someone suggested that to increase voter turnout, they should make all the party leaders sing, because then they'd have people trying to vote twice.

You know how they could get people to vote in the presidential elections?

Make it a reality show. "Who Wants to be the President?"

It already IS a show. You realize how much money some of the networks put into doing special sets for presidential elections? -_-

I'm just glad they finally said SOMETHING. Admitting that they screwed up is even better. (Of course, by the time I got online today, they'd also announced that they reinstated a bunch of journals that had been deleted in the mess)
