Dear LiveJournal user superbus,

It has come to our attention that in your entry located at http://superbus.livejournal.com/318438.html you have used another person's full name against their wishes. This is considered an invasion of privacy, which is prohibited by LiveJournal's Terms of Service.

As such, we must require that you remove the full name "Sean Manchester" from this entry as soon as possible, but no later than 00:01 (midnight) EST 29 July 2007.

Subject: Re: Your LiveJournal Account [89-788701] - Response to Eric

To Eric,

Sean Manchester is a publically known vampire hunter. I would link you to multiple articles about, by and for him, but instead, I will refer you back to the entry that you linked, but either didn't read or didn't pay much attention to, where I mention that he's a public figure with the multiple entries I mention (2,040,000 articles according to a very quick and dirty Google search), with the entire first page, save a map of Manchester, England, being devoted to him. This was something I did in fifteen seconds. Therefore, Sean Manchester is definitely a public figure - in the same vein (though not to the extent, obviously) of someone like Lebron James, Tom Cruise, etc.; I realise the folly in comparing him to them, but the fact of the matter is that he is a published author, that everything I posted about him - including his name - came from a simple Google search, meaning it's public domain, and therefore, due to him being a public figure, your Terms of Service do not apply.

I am very aware - read my entry - of what happened between you guys and Mr. Alexander Lucard. It's very nice to see that Mr. Manchester is internet savvy enough to find references to him in seven month old journal entries; someone his age usually isn't so Google savvy. However, I am aware of the incident with Mr. Lucard, and I am preparing to dig my heels should this get to that level.

I will not be censoring my entry. If you wish to discuss this with me further, I've left my primary email as a reply-to.

So basically, if you all see that I'm suspended, you know why.

Though I think I'm going to get rid of the NWS icon because of this. I don't want to have a kicking contest with one leg.

Wow, just 7 months later. I lol'd.

Good luck with that, Bus. Let's see how eager they are to screw up with a permanent account holder...
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:23 pm (UTC)
*I* Had a permanent account. Given to me, not paid for. And they still banned me permanently for this.
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:25 pm (UTC)
(That this Manchester buggery has been resurrected in true Dracula style by LJ Abuse makes me roll my eyes. Sheesh.)

Welcome to livejournal! It's been total shit since 6A took over.

Chris should just download his archived posts now and open a wordpress blog like I have. If he refuses, they can just pull a denial of service like they did me knowing full well they committed some many illegalities otherwise.
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:59 pm (UTC)
I already have a WP blog, it's my main site.

But those are for my articles (the latest one that I wrote for HCOR is going there). I'd have a problem there because 95% of my LJ posts are Friends' Only.

I thought you were "just" a paid user. But anyway. No, I'm not doubting the ban can happen (hence the good luck wishes) - I'm wondering whether they'll pull that off again.

Or something.
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:45 pm (UTC)
Nope. I was a permanent holder since 2002-3.

Jul. 25th, 2007 06:53 pm (UTC)
Oh, they already have MY money.

But they'll be losing - might even have lost - the future money that I give for Paid accounts for friends, just on a whim. I just bought TWO permanent accounts for people, come to think of it.
Jul. 25th, 2007 11:28 pm (UTC)
I didn't know permanent accounts even existed. How much do they cost? :o 150 like you stated below? :?
Jul. 26th, 2007 04:58 am (UTC)
It was about that last time, and they're only available for purchase in rare occasions.
Jul. 26th, 2007 03:18 pm (UTC)
That sucks, on both accounts. XD Expensive AND rare.
Jul. 25th, 2007 05:30 pm (UTC)

Jul. 25th, 2007 05:56 pm (UTC)
XD I'm not surprised at this.
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:23 pm (UTC)
Oh Jesus Christ.

Personally Chris, I say just F-Only it. Then what can they do?
Jul. 25th, 2007 07:01 pm (UTC)
If it comes between me losing a $150 account and that, that's what I'll do.

But I want to see what their reaction is.
Jul. 25th, 2007 07:11 pm (UTC)
Dude I tried for two years with them. I was nice. I sited proof that he is considered a public figure federally and international, that he has a habit of stalking people, a criminal record in Europe and even got the BBC and over two dozen writers and legal officals to testify on my behalf if I had chosen to sue SA/LJ for everything they had. LJA didn't care. It's basically they're pricks with no knowledge of law or any real level of intelligence. They've never once admitted they were wrong or taken back an action. Even with Strikethrough 07. You're in a situation where it's banning or exporting.
Jul. 25th, 2007 11:26 pm (UTC)
I'm just curious, why didn't you sue? XD If it's because of money issues, I can understand. But It would have been funny as all hell to see 6A sued up the ass for that.
Jul. 26th, 2007 03:16 am (UTC)
I can't legally say why I didn't. ;-)
Jul. 26th, 2007 03:19 pm (UTC)
I find that response more humorous that I probably should.
Jul. 25th, 2007 06:28 pm (UTC)
Jul. 26th, 2007 02:54 am (UTC)
So...they only responded SEVEN months after the fact? Um...that's...special. :')

Man, I hope they don't pull the same BS on you as they did with Alex Lucard. Following his advice might be the best thing to do, even if the idea of censoring yourself is...less than palatable. D:
Jul. 26th, 2007 04:34 am (UTC)
Huh, I used his name, too.

Better check my e-mail.
