Cool meme, stolen from Mark.

Five songs that I am not at all happy that I enjoy:

(Note: All links go to YouTube videos)

1. If This Is It, by Huey Lewis and the News - on Tuesday, I actually caught myself whistling this on the phone with a customer on the line... and didn't realize it until the customer asked why someone as young as me would remember that song. XD Anyway, Heuy Lewis and the News is one of those groups that were very good for their era, so much so that everyone got sick of them. To me, they're in the same category as Rick Astley, who I've gone on record as being a big fan of.

2. Super Trooper, by ABBA - Most of ABBA's work makes me wretch, but I like this song.

3. Apache, originally by The Shadows, covered by Tommy Seebach - Just... just watch the fucking video. XD (Note: This is the original, and while it's very simple, it has a good atmosphere)

4. Here She Comes, by Nelson - Only maybe a few people on my friends list - like Michaelangelo, and maybe Alex, though I think Alex would be revolted by a group like Nelson - remember these guys. For those that don't, imagine Styx, but faggier, and not half as awesome. For those that don't know who Styx is, they're the guys with the song that Eric Cartman covered on that South Park CD. Fags.

And finally, speaking of fags, the #1 embarrasing, "You like that!?" song in history...

5. It's Raining Men, by The Weather Girls - If you take away the content of the song, and listen to the harmonies, it's a great song. If you take into account who's singing it and accept it as that, you can listen to this on your iPod to yourself with no problems.

But that video might be the gayest thing I've ever seen. It's too much on the eyes, too much going on. If you're any sort of homophobic, don't click that link, trust me. The Weather Girls were too large black women, singing about how it's raining men, and they're going to get wet. Give credit where it's due, they know what they want. That by itself screams "OK, straight men, just leave the room for five minutes". But then, a little ways in, HALF NAKED MEN IN SPEEDO SHORTS AND TRENCH COATS FALL FROM THE SKY. I shit you not. And naturally, these guys aren't really paid actors; it's almost like the Weather Girls had a "Save the Gay Porn Star" fund going, and this was step one of the rehabilitation. It goes along this route for the rest of the song, until the big crescendo, where there's a choreographed dance routine with these Chippendale rejects. Just talking about this video makes my ass sore.

And it's an awesome song. Go figure.

(Not linked: the Geri Haliwell version, which is bordering on heresy).

Nelson was great. I always thought they were albinos.

And It's Raining Men was the theme song for one of my friend's characters in WWE RAW 2. Did you know the song synchs up perfectly with Shawn Michaels' intro?

Just saying...
