God Motherfucking Damnit

So apparently, the Virtual Console is useless?

I have three games - one that used to work - that will no longer work because my TV (19" Envision HDTV) gives an "OUT OF FREQUENCY" error when I try to play them (so far, those titles are Baseball Stars 2, Super Mario Bros., and SMB2: Lost Levels). I'm running on component cables, and while I'm sure I could switch the component cables for A/V, that would defeat the purpose of owning $40 component cables in the first place (namely, to play my games in somewhat sharp 480i).

Anyone have any ideas? Between this, and the memory management issues I'm having, this is making me a very unhappy motor vehicle.

EDIT: It should be noted that 1) SMB2 used to work, and 2) These are the only games I know are having problems. I can get out of the issue by hitting the Home button, but then, I have to take it back to the Wii menu.

I believe you're the most sensible man on this damn thing. XD Just buy a cheap standard TV and use it to play those games. Old software requires old hardware, afterall.

... Wha? What? A whole new TV for a system that is supposed to be played on an HDTV in the first place? Moving hardware and cables between TVs? Mind you, I intend on using an older TV in the first place, but for REALLY old hardware, like the NES and Genesis. Maybe the Dreamcast.

No. No, no, no. It's bad enough I had to buy component cables in the first place, I will not use separate hardware for something that should have been adjusted for in the first place.

They want me to not only buy the games (again!), but move all sorts of shit around to play it? Better idea. How about I not spend another fucking cent in the Virtual Console, and go back to emulating my games? THAT'S sensible.

You're incorrect there, the Wii is specifically NOT designed for high end TVs. They even stated that at E3, their focus was gameplay, NOT graphics, unlike everyone else and their brother.
