Wow. I hate scouts to begin with, and now they're giving him a weapon that can stun ubers? Among other items?

What's next? A spy update that makes him able to stab while cloaked? Is that going to be the "fuck you snipers" update? Or why not just name it "Chris Bowen is going to smash a $70 mouse update"?

Frankly, We don't have enough information to judge this yet.

Also, I think Valve said that they were going to do something about the Spy's disguise because even average players can see through it now.

It's not that everyone can see through the disguise, it's that everyone's paranoid now. People are wasting half their ammunition on shooting their own teammates to do spychecks. I remember one time, I was sniping in Well, and it seemed like everytime I zoomed in, I was getting whacked. Yet no one took my intelligence. I'd go up, shoot the whole place up, not find anyone, go back to sniping, and immediately get whacked. There was a spy LITERALLY up there SPECIFICALLY to take me out. I don't know if he was put there strategically (before that, I was racking up kills because of all the chokepoints in Well, and it was an instant respawn server), or if he was trolling me, but it ruined the game for me. I'd also get whacked by that same spy when I went down.

Then again, considering it was a Saignes.de server, I wouldn't put it past just being a hack. Their Gravel Pit server also was home to Dipshit, the Quintuple Jumping Scout (who could also capture points within a second, and whenever he jumped, a giant ring came out from him) and Kangafag, the 30 Foot Jumping Sniper. And let's not forget the Engineer in Badlands who could somehow get on top of an otherwise unreachable house to set up sentries and teleports.

Also, the new arena map that's coming out is designed for you snipefags. :P

I don't think I'd ever take a sniper into Arena. One thing goes wrong and he doesn't have the strength to withstand it. It's a good idea in theory, but you have to be GOOD at sniping to take a sniper, and I'm not THAT good.

Personally, arenas are the realm of Heavies, Demomen, Soldiers and (if you get a couple of them that are fast), Engineers.

And besides, now that CP_Junction is in play, that's a good map for non-snipe types; remember, if you don't count snipe servers, my top playtime is as a Heavy. :P

More reasons to love Scoot.

Fuck the scouts. >:[

Excuse me I take offense to that.

Meh, it's not like I don't snipe you almost as soon as you show your face anyway~ ^__^

I recall the only time you've killed me yet was as a Spy. You. Backstabbed. Me.
Feb. 19th, 2009 01:52 am (UTC)
I almost never play Spy, so that's not possible. :

You're just too ashamed to admit in front of all these people that you backstabbed someone.

I sniped you. With a beautiful headshot, at that. At Badwater. I even made you ragequit.

The world as I know it is coming to an end.

Otherwise, all the Scout has going for him is speed, and that never did me a lot of good in the old TF1 days. I can see why they might mod him.

Not in TF2. In TFC, they were only good for CTF, and that's about it. Here, they're a lot more useful because their shotgun is very good in close range, and because they have the best melee weapon next to the spy's knife. I'm good against them when I take heavy, but terrible if I'm playing sniper because they're too fast.

They're annoying, but not nearly as annoying as spies. I hate spies.
