Writer's Block: Chatty

Do you prefer texting or talking on the phone?
Neither; both of them are massive wastes of my time, and texting is also a pain in the ass on a standard numberpad. I'm not going to buy an expensive phone with a QWERTY keyboard for the two people that text me.

I hate them both as well, but there are a few "free" (aka, free if you're upgrading or if you're getting a plan) phones with a keyboard. Mine has made texting a more feasible solution as opposed to calling people and dealing with their having a few conversations at once or emailing and hoping that they really do "check their email all the time" which seems to seldom be the case. At driving across town to get in touch with someone? Not a chance.

I really wouldn't mind having a phone that can do full internet, a QWERTY keypad, and all the other goodies of the other bigger phones; they're just too much money for too little use, and also, the data plans involved in something like that - for example, to use a Blackberry to it's full potential - are outrageous.

That, and the market moves too damn fast. It was only a few years ago when everyone needed a large-scale PDA that cost hundreds of bucks; now, you can't even get support for them anymore, PDAs are dead. My phone on Monday is going to be obsolete on Wednesday. I'd like the market to mature a little more before I get my feet wet.
