It turns out there was a huge spike in traffic on seigane.net - Cammy, that's your site - that made it look like a DDoS. It all seemed to be coming from one American IP that I haven't been able to trace too much yet, according to my logs, but I want to know what's going on before I mandate having to add an .htaccess to that site.
I apologise for any inconvenience to those with SBNet sites, and Cammy, do you have any clue what happened?

There was one alpha tester in the game prototype (you know which) who refreshed something like... 50k+ times (the spike I mentioned on Twitter earlier) over... idk how long, but it was while I was asleep so um in under 12 hours total. I'm guessing that's it - I'd check the access log but lol 500MB.
I suspended the user temporarily earlier today to try and prevent more problems, though. I'm really sorry about that.
This alpha tester - I'm assuming Josh? - refreshed a page 50K times... why? Was this a stress test? What the hell was going on that made this guy refresh 50K times? This was ONE PERSON?
If it's any consolation I yelled at him for it?
Wait a minute, THAT'S what he was talking about with Mewtwo a few days ago!?
JOSHUA! Explanation! NOW!
You've successfully addicted someone to the point of causing out-of-game repercussions. Grats!
Though, it's a tad ambitious in comparison...
All this said, I'm sincerely sorry for the downtime I caused. I realized that the server was shared, but I did not realize that my refreshing would have THAT large of an effect. Clearly, I was mistaken in this. Obviously, I won't be doing this again, at least until seigane.net has it's own server.
Regards,
Joshua
Because angeling would not replace them, I was forced to hunt them again.
Don't try to blame me for the fact you spent all night refreshing. Other testers lost their shinies too and none of them were "forced" to hunt them again, they sadfaced and moved on.
I meant, I sadfaced, and my persistance forced me to hunt them again. I don't give up easily. XD
You might want to think about how to deal with them, if you haven't already.
Good luck, regardless.
Yeah, there are going to be people like me. Probably quite a few. You're going to have refreshing out the ass, so your traffic's going to spike like you wouldn't believe.
That said, expect to help her out with a dedi. I told her I'd probably donate like 50 bucks, myself.
