  • 02:00:54: @jlist You have taught me that anything with "Waltz" in the title is probably pronographic and awesome.
  • 03:32:51: Lane Kiffin has motivated me with his somehow getting the USC job; tomorrow, I'm applying to be the NCAA President. Why the fuck not?
  • 12:59:53: @sportsguy33 You're nuts. The Rockets have a good thing going on. Why mess that up for a knucklehead?
  • 13:05:30: Gran Turismo 5 was delayed AGAIN! BWAHAHAHAHAHA #ohwaitihavetoreviewthis
  • 13:09:44: I cannot muster the energy to feel bad every time some other country has something like a quake happen. I guess that makes me a bad person.
  • 13:22:09: http://bit.ly/5DAL64 - Not only does your game suck, you treat your players like they're idiots (though they probably are). Fuck you, Namco.
  • 13:36:44: http://bit.ly/8RSIcg - Why anyone still uses Adobe products at this point is beyond me.
  • 14:30:32: @jephjacques They're so awesome, their site won't come up because of sheer awesome.
  • 14:32:13: @jephjacques Let me guess: five minutes of work?
  • 19:45:28: Know what's worst about the Lane Kiffin issue? It shows that maybe Al Davis was onto something in that insane press conference in '08.
  • 19:54:27: Susan Bysiewicz, let me be as clear on this as possible: you are no Richard Blumenthal.
  • 20:10:46: Some people I DO feel sorry for: Kiffin's players/recruits/early enrollees. They got taken for a ride, and can't leave, unlike their coach.
  • 21:01:53: Decent Japanese steakhouse in Shelton. What's missing is the woman that should be dining across from me.
  • 21:23:22: @ErikaS981 yep! I figured it was worth a try on your review.
  • 22:13:21: Dear snotty bitch at Starbucks: I wouldn't even go to your shitty business if there was a local alternative. Take your $.20 tip and fuck off
  • 22:37:51: A part of me is curious about Blu-Ray porn. The realist in me says, however, that sometimes, there is a thing as too much resolution.
  • 22:39:21: @thestolenfork Kobi's, on Centre St. Good food, but bad portions and too Americanized.
  • 23:05:49: @twelveicings It should be noted that Burrows took two penalties tonight, including a dubious one in the 3rd. I'm just saying. XD
  • 23:08:47: @BJaMsWorld Picture a porn star's stretch marks and herpies sores in blistering 1080p! That's what stops me from satisfying my curiosity.
  • 23:17:36: @twelveicings He's still in the NHL? Wow, I thought he'd be in Abbotsford by now!
  • 23:18:24: Perceptive people can usually tell who's left home and travelled, and who never left their comfy homes, by what they talk about online.
  • 23:20:23: @twelveicings I'm talking about Jokinen. XD
  • 23:28:28: Kobis Japanese Steakhouse on #Yelp: I hate having to leave the Valley to go to a real Japanese steakhouse... come to... http://bit.ly/58QmM3
  • 23:29:46: @twelveicings XD (This tweet intentionally made LESS specific. I <3 you! 8D)

(Deleted and reposted to add the question at the bottom.)

*ponders*

I noticed that several of the soap operas – Mom has been watching since the '70s, you see – have changed from the 'live' look to a more sitcom-y look because HDTV makes all of the make-up look very, very obvious (and very, very fake). I imagine porn has the same problem, only magnified (literally).

EDIT: Which Namco game is sucking today?

The Namco game that sucks today is Tales of Vesperia; the bit.ly link that I put before that post goes to a site talking about how they're now selling costumes via DLC that basically do nothing but advertise other Namco games. "Look at this! You can dress a character up at Mr. Driller! And KOS-MOS! You otaku faggots all jerk off to KOS-MOS, right!?"

In other words, they are selling, as DLC, content that used to be merely unlockable within the game? :-| Out-of-series costumes are one of those Tales traditions, IIRC, but having to pay for them seems silly. Not that I dislike KOS-MOS or anything, but I should not have to pay for that extra. No Shion? Fail.

Semi-related: One of the knuckleheads at Square Enix has noted that they had to cut so much material from FFXIII before release that they have enough leftovers to make another game of the same size. o_O Boggles the mind.

They're extra costumes in addition to those already present in the game. I don't see the issue. If people want them, they can pay for them. If not, they don't have to.

My issues with Namco's DLC goes deeper than that. They have paid DLC that gives both weapons and gold, as well as levels. I have a huge problem with that, as well as the other shit Namco throws into their games. They're selling half-complete games with unlock codes, and even worse, are selling cheats to us. This is something I used to get from a Codebreaker (usually a $15 purchase that worked with other games), and while I'm glad they've gotten rid of those devices in terms of how online games fare, they're instead nickel and diming us in terms of game cheats, which gives me pause because now, the pressure is going to be on companies to make those cheats virtually required. That's what EA's doing; if you want to be competitive online, you either have to play every day for hours a day at a particular game, or you have to buy equipment that usually takes weeks to unlock.

The DLC in question isn't gold or level ups, it's costumes that were created nearly two years after the original game shipped.

They're selling half-complete games with unlock codes...

You'll have to link me to the problem in question on this one.

Why anyone still uses Adobe products at this point is beyond me.

And your suggested alternative is...?

Foxit Reader. :-D

In fairness to Dale, there's also the issue of Photoshop, also an Adobe product. For that, there is no sufficient alternative, as GIMP is far inferior.

Photoshop is merely the tip of the iceburg. Let us not forget Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, After Effects, et cetera. One might as well ask "why does anyone still breath air?" People still use Adobe because the alternatives are akin to second-hand crap in a bucket.
