Writer's Block: Fight or flight

Have you ever struck someone in a fit of anger or self-defense? If so, did you live to regret it?
I haven't had a legitimate (read: non-hockey related) fight since my Navy days, but when I was young? Oh yeah. I had fights all the time. Someone insulted me? Let's fight. Someone insulted a friend? Let's fight. Even if I thought I was remotely threatened, it was a fight. I guess I have to thank a little guy named Jose Thomas; when I was young, I was a bit soft, and he fucked me up. I wouldn't lose another fight until I got into the Navy; between some of the things that happened to me as a kid, and that, I got angry, and it didn't hurt/help that I was getting big, either (I was 150 - solid - by the time I was 13).

I wouldn't say I've had any regrets; fights just happen, especially when you're a guy. But I do admit I'm getting old to be fighting.
